How it works

Plaster needed is area × thickness × the product’s usage rate. Manufacturers usually state usage in kilograms per square metre per centimetre of thickness.

How to measure

Work out the area to plaster. If the wall is uneven, measure thickness at several points and use the average.

Tips

• Fix corner beads and screeds before you start.
• Build thick coats in two passes rather than one.
• Let the plaster dry fully before painting.
