How it works
Sheet count is the area to cover divided by the area of one sheet, plus a waste allowance for cuts. Partition walls are covered on both faces, which doubles the area. Screws, tape and compound use typical per-area averages.
How to measure
Measure total wall length and ceiling height. Enter door and window openings separately as width × height.
Tips
- Use moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and fire-rated board where code requires it.
- Joints must land on studs; stagger them between rows.
- Set screw heads just below the surface without tearing the paper.
